Homeopathic medicine

I am very interested in homeopathic medicine and am trying to find a practitioner near me to consult with. However I actually think there are some conditions that cannot be treated effectively any other way than with conventional medicines. What are people's thoughts on this? I've been to homeopaths for allergies for both me and my son and found it to be VERY good. It's great for dealing with on going "niggles" - things that aren't severe, but have an impact on your daily life - hay fever, colds etc.
