there are Santa's Grottos in lots of shops and shopping centres on the lead up to Christmas and many don't have much publicity. So if you know of one in your local area, please add it to this list or create a post for it in the appropriate location.

If you know what the reputation of the grotto is, even better - please tell us how it has been in previous years (or how it is this year if you have visited already)

I'm sure lots of parents and grandparents will be very pleased to know.

In dartford there are normally 2 - one on the top floor of the Co-op (next to the cafe) and one in the Orchard Shopping centre (near the back entrance of Boots)

Santa will be at the Orchard Shopping Centre on Saturday 9th and 16th from 10-1500 and then from the 18th to the 23rd from 10-1500 each day. He's located near the rear entrance of Boots and Clintons

I've just confirmed that Santa is at the Co-op this year Mon - Sat from 11-5 each day (Rudolph needs feeding at 13:00 though, so he'll be gone for 30 mins)

Sad to say I'm in a Muslim country. Christians can't totally celebration Christmas just like other nations. Our actions are limited. But we do celebrate Christmas in our own simple way. I have a big poster of santa in my door at home.

Another one - at BlueWater, Greenhithe.... It's from £3.75 per child and they get a gift during their visit.

Fenwick - one of the major department stores in Newcastle upon Tyne, has over many years built up the tradition of dedicating the major section of their usually sales-promotional window display area to depicting traditional scenes in the runup to Christmas - larger than life animation and sound - this year it's Gulliver's Travels, well worth a visit to view if you're in the area!

It makes a refreshing change to witness a retail outlet doing this...............

It sounds as if a Grotto well worth visiting is at Alnwick Gardens in Northumberland - the setting is amazing anyway, so with all of the lights and festivities as well, it will be wonderful
