Personally speaking I think that the name of the shops are appropriate to what they do.

They are a co-op selling organic and fairtrade goods to the local areas. The selection at this one in Gosforth is great to such an extent that when I'm up there (I now live in kent) I have to go in and stock up. They are doing so well up there that rumour has it they have recently moved into larger premises within the shopping centre on Gosforth high street.
